PS Centre structure
The centre is an outsourced function of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, hosted by Danish Red Cross and located in Copenhagen. It has a steering committee consisting of the heads of the International Federation Health and Care Department, and the Danish Red Cross International Department. Additionally, it has an advisory body consisting of experts and partners. It works in partnership with several research institutions and other psychosocial stakeholders, and also has a roster group of experts that can be called on for various assignments. In addition to the Danish Red Cross support, the centre is funded by a group of National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The funding and management of the centre is outlined in an agreement between the International Federation and Danish Red Cross. The agreement aims to establish a financially sound and well-managed Federation reference centre, which is able to effectively deliver high quality programmes and services to all interested National Societies. It states that, in regards to the structure, funding and management, the centre is to be managed and hosted by DRC, and also that the centre should be a Federation “Centre of Excellence”.
