In addition, 7 years as a volunteer and as paid staff with counselling and psychosocial support to people living with HIV and AIDS. |

Mette Fjalland Strategy and partnership advisor mef@drk.dk / +45 35 25 93 67 Mette is responsible for overall strategic planning and partnership building. Over the past twelve years, Mette has worked for a number of international development organisations including the UN and the EU, with long-term field postings in Vietnam, Indonesia, NY and Brussels. She has significant expertise in multi-stakeholder planning processes, programme coordination, organizational capacity strengthening, strategic partnership and resource mobilization. Mette holds a Master Degree in Politics from Oxford University, England. |

Hedinn Halldorsson Communications advisor hha@drk.dk / +45 35 25 93 53 Hedinn is responsible for the web, editing the Centre's quarterly magazine, Coping with Crisis, publishing the monthly e-news letter as well as aiming at raising the Centre's profile and visibility. Hedinn has for several years worked as a correspondent/video journalist for the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service. He holds a Masters degree in International Development from the University of Manchester, specializing in poverty, conflict and reconstruction. |

Birgitte Yigen Technical advisor biy@drk.dk / +45 35 25 93 68Birgitte is responsible for the technical guidance to Red Cross and Red Crescent partners worldwide in responding to emergencies and planning psychosocial programmes. This includes support to strategy development, programme design, quality control, assessments, monitoring and evaluations. She has significant experiences in building best practice programmes, strategy development, management and implementation. Birgitte has more than 10 years working experience from the humanitarian, development and private sector. She has solid experiences from the UN with postings in Southern Africa. Birgitte holds an MA in International Development and Geography and a Post Graduate in Humanitarian Management from New York. |

Ferdinand Garoff Training advisor gar@drk.dk / +45 35 25 70 36 Ferdinand is responsible for developing, monitoring and evaluating training material, mapping training needs, planning and organising trainings and ensuring that cross-cutting themes are sufficiently incorporated in psychosocial support trainings of National Societies and the IFRC. He has worked as a clinical psychologist in schools and in health care services, as well as with the Finnish Red Cross Psychologists’ Preparedness Group in national disasters. Ferdinand holds an MA degree in Psychology from the University of Helsinki, Finland. He is currently working on a PhD for the same institution. |

Åsta Ytre Short-term consultant aay@drk.dk / +47 97 19 53 06 Åsta is performing a desk review of psychosocial support to volunteers in emergencies in the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. The aim of the review is to provide an indicative baseline and overview of best practices, which in turn can provide a basis for a comprehensive psychosocial support system to volunteers in emergencies. Åsta started in the Red Cross as volunteer with the Norwegian Red Cross Youth in 2001, and has worked with communications and organisational development for the Movement since 2003. She holds a BA in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has also studied political science at the University of Bergen, Norway. |

Pernille Terlonge Short-term consultant pterlonge@att.net Pernille is developing resources to be used in school-based psychosocial interventions. This is a project that has been initiated following years of successful school based psychosocial interventions with children affected by armed conflict, run by various Red Cross Red Crescent Societies. The resources will be applicable not only to children affected by armed conflict but for children living in a variety of difficult situations. The project is undertaken in collaboration with Save the Children, Denmark. Pernille is a psychologist, and currently a Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Psychology, University of Copenhagen. She previously worked full time for the IFRC Reference Centre, on the Tsunami Lessons Learned project, and on strengthening resources on child protection. She has lived most of her life in Africa, and worked for a number of years in Swaziland with psychosocial responses for children and families affected by HIV and poverty. |
