Background: Psychologist with a specialization in traumatic stress, community based psychosocial support in humanitarian organizations with the objective of improving psychosocial well-being of staff, volunteers and beneficiaries. In addition, 7 years as a volunteer and as paid staff with counselling and psychosocial support to people living with HIV and AIDS. |

Lasse Norgaard, communication advisor. Lasse has a long history in the movement having been a communication delegate for ICRC and the Federation in Iraq, East Africa, South East Asia and staff-on-loan in Geneva during the Millennium-campaign “The power of humanity”. He graduated as a journalist in 1986 and have since worked partly for the RC Movement, partly as a correspondent for different Danish newspapers reporting from Africa and Asia, where he has lived for almost 20 years. Before joining the PS Centre in February 2011, Lasse worked two and a half years as a regional communication delegate for the Federation in Bangkok. |

+45 35 25 93 68 Birgitte is responsible for the technical guidance to Red Cross and Red Crescent partners worldwide in responding to emergencies and planning psychosocial programmes. This includes support to strategy development, programme design, quality control, assessments, monitoring and evaluations. She has significant experiences in building best practice programmes, strategy development, management and implementation. Birgitte has more than 10 years working experience from the humanitarian, development and private sector. She has solid experiences from the UN with postings in Southern Africa. Birgitte holds an MA in International Development and Geography and a Post Graduate in Humanitarian Management from New York. |

Sara Johansson Technical Advisor, Emergency Response Unit

Sara Johansson is responsible for technical advice and for the development of the Psychosocial support component in Emergency Response Units (ERUs) worldwide. The component was first used in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake and is a Red Cross Red Crescent tool for addressing the stress and the total disruption of normalcy children and adults may experience following potentially traumatic events such as large scale natural disasters. Sara has a M.sc. in Psychology from Gothenburg University, Sweden and a specialist course in Psychotraumatology from the Swedish National Centre for Disaster Psychiatry and Uppsala University. She has worked for the Swedish Red Cross nationally and internationally for twelve years and has in-field experience of the immediate response following a large number of emergencies such as the Gothenburg discotheque fire in 1998, the tsunami in South East Asia 2004, the armed conflict in Lebanon 2006, the flooded Southern parts of Pakistan 2010 and the bombing and shooting attacks in Norway 2011. Sara has broad experience training within the field of Psychotraumatology, and is a regular lecturer at universities and authorities, among them the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. |

Jon Kristiansen is working with finance and resource mobilisation at the PS Centre. Norwegian Jon holds a Master of African Studies from the University of Copenhagen, and has broad experiences as programme manager in Africa and Asia over the past 6 years, especially within community–based programmes, primary health care, HIV/AIDS and water and sanitation. He recently worked as head of delegation for Danish Red Cross in Myanmar.

Martha Bird, Coordinator. Martha is responsible for the coordination and project management of the Centre’s knowledge development projects. She supports all stages of the project cycle from funding applications, implementation, ensuring timelines and reporting to budgeting, contracts, project partnerships and financial management. In addition, Martha is part of the Centre’s support team and provides support to the director on recruitments and interviews, Centre finances, volunteer management, etc. Martha holds and MA in History and African studies and has five years private sector experience in international management consulting.

Ayo Degett is responsible for the coordination of a couple of project i.e. a new project on gender based violence. She is also assisting with communication tasks such as editing, webpage and distribution. When not working at the PS Centre Ayo is writing her thesis on masculinity and sexual behavior of men in post-conflict Uganda. She has studied most of her masters degree at the Institute of Forced Migration, Mailman School of Public Health, and Columbia University where she studied psychosocial support and sexual health in emergencies and conflicts. Ayo previously worked at the department of conflict resolution in the UN headquarters in New York and at the Peace Support Programme at the Danish embassy in Nepal. |

Cecilie is responsible for administrative and ad hoc tasks. Cecilie has a B.sc. in International Development Studies from Roskilde University and is currently enrolled at Roskilde University as a masters student in International Development Studies and Cultural Studies. She is fluent in Spanish aside from English and Danish and has a love for Latin American affairs. |
